San Francisco Police Detective Scotty Ferguson is chasing a criminal, unable to save his partner who falls off the roof and begins to fear heights. He hires private detective Scotty, who quits his job as a police officer to track down the wife of his old high school friend, Gavin Elster. Scotty returns to San Francisco after her and finds himself in confusing situations.
